Fellow Commissioners:
In regards to the preliminary zoning agenda, I have made the following observations and want to ensure that these items are open for discussion during the commission meeting.
5. 9-I-24-RZ: Since Mr. Mullins has indicated his request to change the planning department and commissions conditions, I would assume this will automatically be open for discussion.
6. 8-H-34-RZ: I noticed that the planning staff recommended denial but planning commission approved. I would like this open for discussion.
8. 9-M-24-RZ: I noticed that the planning staff recommended denial but planning commission approved. I would like this open for discussion.
13. 6-I-24-RZ: I noticed that the planning staff recommended denial but planning commission approved. I would like this open for discussion.
15, 16, 17, 18, 19: I would like more information on these five items. I would like these open for discussion.
Respectfully submitted, Angela Russell
All zoning agenda items are heard by County Commission. Unlike, Planning Commission’s Zoning Agenda and County Commission’s Regular Agenda, agenda items are not placed on consent or non consent. Therefore, all of the items that you listed can be discussed.
For specific questions regarding zoning agenda items, Director Amy Brooks and Director Jim Snowden are Commission’s points of contact.
I appreciate your interest in more information on items 15-19. For each of these items, if you go to the online agenda you can click through to the proposed resolutions and backup documents. The proposed resolutions contain detailed proposed findings that relate to each project. When I drafted these, I identified every planning commission case so that the commissioners could easily identify each previous rezoning. Also, on the Commissioner Forum thread started by Commissioner Frazier, entitled “Preliminary Zoning Agenda – Request for Information”, there is additional information to review.
